Ever Wondered?

What the YKK stands for on your zip **pauses while everyone checks their trousers/jeans/skirt/shorts for the YKK on their zip** (if it’s not on there then you are not part of the ‘club’). Mwaha. Anyhoo, thanks to the wonders of google we have our answer people:

“YKK was founded in Japan as a zipper manufacturing company in 1934 by Tadao (pronounced Tah-dah-o) Yoshida. In the early years, Mr Yoshida’s company carried his name; it was called Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha - or “YKK” for short. The full Japanese name roughly translates into English as “Yoshida Company Limited”. Over the years, the letters “YKK” were stamped onto the zippers’ pull down tabs, and thus YKK became known as the Company’s trademark”

May your minds now rest in peace.
