If it wasn’t for that plant lady!!

Am only kidding. We rent some plants for our office, tis very nice to have a “green” office makes it look much nicer. They are watered every two weeks by the company that we rent them from. The plant lady (tee hee, her name is actually Gaydene but I like to call her plant lady it makes her sound more fun) came just now to water and clean all our plants. Five minutes ago she came and asked me if I had a mop? I don’t in case you are wondering, the cleaners keep all their ‘equipment’ locked away in some cupboard. Anyway, it turns out that she knocked over her watering can in the kitchen and there was water all over the floor. Now I mean allllll over the floor. I could only find kitchen roll to dry it up with, so I thought it be best to help her. I didn’t think anything of it, while I was almost crouching on the floor, but as I was walking back to my desk I realised my skirt had got dragged in the water! Marie at work said it kind of looks like you accidentally dropped your skirt in the loo or something! Gee, thanks! Tis not a good look am tellin’ you.

A tie funny

An man was walking through the Sahara desert, desperate for water, when he saw something, far off in the distance. Hoping to find water, he walked toward the image, only to find a little old woman sitting at a card table with a bunch of neckties laid out on it.

The thirsty man asked, “Please, I’m dying of thirst, can I have some water?”

The woman replied “I don’t have any water, but why don’t you buy a tie? Here’s one that goes nicely with your outfit.”

The man shouted, “I don’t want a tie, you idiot, I need water!!!”

“Okay. So don’t buy a tie. But to show you what a nice person I am, I’ll tell you that over that hill there, about four miles, is a nice restaurant. Walk that way, they’ll give you all the water you want.”

The dehydrated soul thanked the woman and walked away toward the hill and eventually disappeared. Three hours later he returned crawling back to where the woman was still sitting behind her card table.

She said “I told you, about four miles over that hill…. Couldn’t you find it?”

The man rasped, “I found it all right. They wouldn’t let me in without a tie.”

Smile it Confuses People

A smile is the best accessory. I like to smile. I think people like to see a smile too. Though I must remember to walk along with a smile - or if its not a smile then not a frown! I found myself walking along this morning with a frown on my face. A woman passed me who looked really moody with a big frown on her face and I realised that’s what I was doing! Not what I want to look like. You can’t always wear a smile but don’t wear a frown!

Happy Friday people, am looking forward to the 3 day weekend!!

Communion

We did a bible study on communion last week in our home group, I forgot to mention my thoughts on it. It was really refreshing to re-learn and study the subject in a bit more depth.  I found it really interesting - be it long.. and some good discussion points arose. We also had a time to talk/discuss about the way that we do communion in our church. A few interesting opinions and some though-provoking suggestions. I also realised that I had fallen into the trap of just taking “communion” for the sake of it. I thought back the last time we had taken it together as a church, and realised that I hadn’t even made the effort to contemplate, meditate and consider things or even recognise why I was doing it. The bible study was a gentle reminder of how and what we should be doing as individuals for both ourselves and each other. It really encouraged me anyway. I like the lyrics to the Third Day song below, sums it up…almost.

This is the body
This is the blood
Broken and poured out
For all of us
And in this communion
We share in His love
This is the body
This is the blood

Well I will remember, everything Lord, that you’ve done for me
I won’t take for granted, the sacrifice, that set me free
Well I hunger and thirst for your love
Come fill me today

This is the body
This is the blood
Broken and poured out
For all of us
And in this communion
We share in His love
This is the body
This is the blood

We hunger and thirst for your love, and your righteousness
We long for your presence here Lord
Be with us again

Still Tired

Have been sleeping since my last post. Ok, not really. Not quite sleeping, have felt like I have been in a bit of total daze since Tuesday morning feeling rather tired. Though I rather proudly didn’t have any coffee on Tuesday - only one cup of caffeinated tea at work and another in the evening. I do have to admit it has kind of been downhill from there on whoops! Didn’t have a driving lesson this week - my instructor was having a week off as holiday (the swine!) it was Chloe’s birthday anyway, so that was handy really. Plus didn’t really have the money for it either doubly handy. Have been driving our car though, I discovered that the drivers seat can be adjusted by height as well! Such a relief, I was feeling considerably small in the ‘big’ car. Daniel makes me nervous sometimes when I am driving our car, he will stamp his feet forward for the “brake” pedal.. Is kind of half funny I guess - only half though because he sometimes shouts with it. Naughty. Can’t believe Chloe is 6! Lots of rain this morning, “good for the garden” so people keep telling me. Where’s the sun though? Heard that it had been forecasted to be very rainy in September. Ahh Man. Summers over.. (?!!)

Flickering fluorescent

The ceiling light in the kitchen at work is flickering - I was only standing there (making a cup of tea) for two minutes..Feels like I have just come out of a 6 hour raveathon! Not good. Feel all light-headed.
