9 Months Later…….

Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack’s mini van and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.

“I realize it’s terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I’m recently widowed,” she explained. “I’m afraid the neighbours will talk if I let you stay in my house.”

“Don’t worry,” Jack said. “We’ll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we’ll be gone at first light.”

The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night. Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.

But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend. He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked,

“Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up North about 9 months ago?”

“Yes, I do.” said Bob

“Did you, er, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?”

“Well, um, yes,” Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out. “I have to admit that I did”

“And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your name?”

Bob’s face turned red and he said, “Yeah, look, I’m sorry, buddy. I’m afraid I did… Why do you ask?”

“She just died and left me everything.”

And there was you thinking that the ending would be different, didn’t you?!
Now keep that smile for the rest of the day! Tee hee

His ‘n’ Hers

Apparently a new TV which allows a split screen facility has been introduced to the market with a “Beam2Me” technology which furthers the already existing option of a split screen by focusing a tight beam of sound at each individual - in the same way that you direct a light with a torch beam. Am not so convinced about it, though ‘experts’ ( exactly who are these people!!? lol) seem to think that it could take off, with similar reservations from people about paying £3,000 for a flat screen TV being scrapped…. Who know’s what is next with our ever growing technologies….!!

Far too tedious

At work, in fact the whole school, all are currently having to go through a ‘Higher Education Role Analysis Process’. Its supposed to “create role descriptions and profiles to support recruitment, selection and promotion………” blah blah blah. Anyway this morning I have been completing the form for it, there are 50 detailed questions grouped into 14 elements which are supposed to make sure that all aspects of all roles are covered - I just see it as a really long drawn out process. We have to answer the relevant areas to our role and then give evidence (joys!) it feels like a job application - actually its much worse than a job application!!

So far in two hours I have completed question one, scrolled through the rest, made a cup of tea, laughed at the questions, sighed at the questions, got confused with the questions, finished my tea, gazed out the window for “inspiration” (ha!), went off to talk to someone, popped to the loo, realigned the document template, read over my answers to question one, typed this up in my blog, got some water, sent an email to my friend saying how annoying this was… and decided I may as well wait until after lunch to continue….. tee hee.

Song

I heard this song, by Casting Crowns while we were driving back from Home group last night, and thought it was really great!!! So thought I would put it up on here :)

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling
And You’ve told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
‘Cause I am Yours
I am Yours
